Imagine an eco-friendly way for individuals or households to extract fresh water from the air instantaneously and directly to power your homes, offices, and other spaces.
This technology is very much a reality now with the introduction of the WaterCube (WC-100) system unveiled by Genesis Systems, a company working to tackle water scarcity around the globe.
It has been deemed the world’s first and only home air device that generates water from air harnessing 120 gallons a day of pure fresh water.
The design is an automated system generating pure potable water. It uses the moisture present in the air, employing a condensation method to harness drinkable water through this innovative technology.
The technology champions sustainability at the heart of its innovation and also provides pollution-free water sources.
According to the firm’s official statement, this system can be used in various settings, including homes, off-grid locations, or places where a portable water source is required. The system can operate continually, supplying a constant supply of pure water 24 hours a day.
WC-100 system tackles environmental challenges by aiming their device to avoid problematic by-products associated with traditional water sources. It utilizes renewable energy sources like solar power, promoting sustainability.
The system operates by extracting moisture from the air and converting it into pure water, offering automation and the ability to deliver water on demand. Additionally, multiple WC-100 units can be combined to increase water output for larger households.
The firm says that they successfully yielded 100*+ gallons of pure water per day. This data is driven by testing the WaterCube at 80 degrees Fahrenheit and at 60 percent relative humidity.
The model has been crafted to operate in humidity ranges between 40 percent to 100 percent with ideal climatic conditions involving temperatures greater than 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
Furthermore, the water yield meets the water quality standards with that required by US, NSF, and international standards as well.
Therefore, Genesis Systems emphasized that individuals can safely consume the water produced by WC-100 as it satisfies all rigorous national and international benchmarks.
WC-100’s filtration system has also been equipped with a 0.01 micrometers changeable water filter, UV water treatment, and Merv 13 Air Filter according to the company.
Genesis Systems alluding to the technology solving water scarcity issues, remarked: “Neighborhoods in the future may include WaterCubes for each household and virtually eliminate the need for municipal water systems.”
They further noted that the technology would especially benefit those requiring off-grid independence or a portable water source.
“By generating water from the air, there is no stress on other existing water resources such as aquifers and reservoirs,” the firm added.
